Hello again!

It’s been a long time since my last email and a lot has changed since then. For those who are interested, I’ll give you a quick update on my life and will then tell you about the plans for my IELTS website and my return to teaching.

What Have I Been Doing for the last 3 Months?

The first big news is that I’m no longer living in Colombia and have moved over to Europe. Currently, I’m in the UK and the plan is to move to Spain with my wife next month. It’s a big change and there are risks involved, but life is sometimes about taking chances to get something better in the future. We’re thinking about Valencia, so if anyone has recommendations, friends or contacts there, I’d be happy to hear about it.

Also, we returned from our honeymoon in Japan and South Korea last week. It was truly the trip of a lifetime with 3 weeks in Japan and 1 week in South Korea. We travelled using the Japan Rail pass and visited so many towns and cities during our time there. The highlights were probably Kyoto and Mount Fuji, but some of the lesser-known places like Kagoshima (which is in the photo above) and Kanazawa really surprised and impressed us. Anyway, the whole trip felt like a dream and even though it was expensive I’d totally recommend those countries to anyone.

Plans for IELTS Matt

1) The biggest news is that I’m starting work again tomorrow, I’ve updated my calendar and have already received my first booking. For the rest of February and March, I’ll be working on Monday, Wednesday and most Fridays, before returning to a full schedule in April.

2) I’m considering creating some paid content for the website. This could possibly include a video course, an e-book or extra model answers. Please let me know if you would be interested in any of these because this might influence my decision.

3) I’ll aim to update the recent questions for the speaking and writing section by the end of this week and start writing weekly blog posts to help with different elements of the IELTS test from next week.

The main aim is to improve the website to make it an essential resource for IELTS and the only place that you need to visit to receive all of the information that you need. What would you recommend improving? Please comment below or if you are receiving this by email, you can reply to the email.

I’ll speak to you again soon 🙂
