As I mentioned in my last post, I have returned to teaching again and I will be providing IELTS speaking and writing questions on a regular basis. As I’m in the process of collating writing questions, I decided to start with a full IELTS speaking test from March 2020 that one of my students reported to me.

You should definitely practice it before going to your exam either on your own or with a teacher. I’d be happy to help you with it and you can use my booking page or contact me via Whatsapp if you have any questions 🙂

Part 1

Topic: Hometown  (3 of these questions)

Where is your hometown?

What do you like about it?

How has it changed since you were a child?

Topic: Pens/Pencils (3 of these questions)

Do you prefer to use pens or pencils?

When did you first use a pen/pencil?

Do you think people will use pens/pencils in the future?

Topic: Cakes/Desserts

Did you like cakes and desserts when you were a child?

Which desserts are popular in your country?

Have you baked anything recently?

Part 2:

Describe a job you would not like to do in the future:

You should say:

What job it is?

When did you find out about this job?

How difficult or easy is this job?

and explain why you would not like to do this job

Part 3: Jobs

Which professions are young people choosing nowadays?

Who influences children when choosing their future career?

What factors should young people consider when choosing a profession?

Do you think the retirement age should be increased? Do you think old people should be allowed to work after they retire?

How can society help old people after they retire?

Is it the responsibility of family or the government to look after old people in their retirement?
